I was also told to submit as much information and sent a letter to each council person explaining that my 11-year-old grandson wanted chickens for a project he was working on. I also sent a signed letter from the only neighbor who this may affect stating he had no objection.

    A vehicle attempting to turn left from Sallier onto Ryan Street had its driver's side mirror clipped by a train Monday morning, authorities said. The driver's side door of the vehicle was then torn off as the driver attempted to notify the train conductor about the mirror. Avoid the area of Ryan and Sallier Streets for the next hour due to a traffic accident that is causing road blockage.

Police tell us the driver was exiting the off-ramp at the Ryan Street exit on I-210 eastbound.  He apparently lost control of the vehicle, but as of now, it's not known whether the incident was caused by a mechanical error or human error.     A Sulphur city employee was arrested Wednesday and accused of making unauthorized charges using a City of Sulphur gas card. According to Sulphur Mayor Chris Duncan, Kody Martin, 20, of Moss Bluff, Louisiana, was arrested and booked into the Sulphur City Jail for theft and unauthorized use of an access card.     Most of the Sulphur-area Entergy customers who lost power in a widespread outage on late Sunday afternoon have had their power restored.

    The outage, which affected thousands of customers, was caused by the failure of a transmission line that feeds into a substation, which itself feeds into the power lines of a large number of Sulphur-area customers, said Chip Arnould, Sr. Manager of Customer Service at Entergy.

    Most of the Sulphur-area Entergy customers who lost power in a widespread outage on late Sunday afternoon have had their power restored.

    The outage, which affected thousands of customers, was caused by the failure of a transmission line that feeds into a substation, which itself feeds into the power lines of a large number of Sulphur-area customers, said Chip Arnould, Sr. Manager of Customer Service at Entergy.
