Once water is restored, a precautionary boil advisory will be in place.     The City of Lake Charles is asking residents to voluntarily conserve water over the next two days in order to help rebuild water pressure. Water usage is high because of burst pipes and dripping faucets.   “When temperatures are above freezing, all running faucets should be turned off.     Snow made a rare return to Southwest Louisiana today. Areas of Vernon Parish saw lots of snow fall throughout the day, but it didn't stop people from being out and about.     Hundreds of people attended the 60th annual Fur and Wildlife Festival in Cameron Parish Saturday. There was plenty of live music, rides and gumbo at Southwest Louisiana's "oldest and coldest" festival. Some traveled as far as Alexandria to attend, and KPLC spoke to a few people to find out what they love about the festival.

    Four suspects were arrested in DeQuincy during the early morning hours on Wednesday in a multi-agency drug bust, according to Capt. Authorities from multiple southwest Louisiana agencies were serving 3 arrest warrants in two separate locations in DeQuincy.  All are facing charges of 

    Four suspects were arrested in DeQuincy during the early morning hours on Wednesday in a multi-agency drug bust, according to Capt.     Louisiana travelers now have until October to get a Real ID driver's license or ID card. Richard Harrell, spokesman for LCPD.  Officers responded to an obscenity call at a Subway Sandwich Shop on Prien Lake Road on Dec. 30. Upon investigation, the officers found out an unidentified male had walked into the drive-thru area of the Subway.

    Louisiana state Fire Marshal Butch Browning, Jr. has issued an emergency alert in anticipation of the record-breaking cold and freezing temperatures across the state. According to the State Fire Marshal's Facebook page, Fire Marshal Deputies have responded to 7 fire investigations during the past 12 hours. There has been one reported injury associated with these fires.

    Deputies with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office are engaged in a standoff with a bank robbery suspect, authorities said.  The Sheriff's Office was assisting the DeQuincy Police Department in serving a warrant to a suspect in Westlake from a previous bank robbery that occurred in DeQuincy.  Authorities believe the suspect is located inside a residence on Poinciana Lane in Westlake.  KPLC is on the scene and will provide more information as it be.

    After the City of Lake Charles approved a 2 percent pay raise for its employees, which will go into effect in 2018, the Lake Charles Fire Department is particularly excited. "We don't have extra people," said LCFD Chief Keith Murray. "When you're down 9 [firefighters], there's quite a bit of overtime." According to Murray, the LCFD can function properly when down 9 firefighters, but he hopes the pay raise encourages his employees to stick around.

    A Johnson Bayou native and Airforce Sr. Airman is getting to come home this Christmas. Dustin Badon has been stationed at an Airforce base in Oklahoma but this Christmas he will be back home in Louisiana thanks to a program that provides financial assistance to active duty military to travel from their military base to home during the holidays.  The program is called "Operation Ride Home" and is sponsored by the Armed Services YMCA and the Jack Daniels Distillery....

    The DeQuincy Police Department is investigating a bank robbery that occurred at about 10:30 a.m. Monday at the City Savings Bank on West 4th Street in DeQuincy. According to Capt.     The Lake Charles Police Department has arrested one person after a nearly 20-minute pursuit Saturday afternoon. LCPD received a call of a person shooting a firearm from a vehicle on the 1900 block of Prejean Drive in the afternoon, said LCPD Deputy Chief Mark Kraus. Police located the vehicle near Hwy 14. A 19-minute pursuit then ensued, and ended with a suspect arrested.
