    A Calcasieu Parish School bus has been involved in an accident, but authorities say no injuries have been reported. The accident happened on I-10 eastbound, between Sulphur and Westlake, said Sgt. James Anderson, Louisiana State Police Troop D spokesman.     There's something different in the Sulphur City Water supply and not everyone is happy about it. The City just re-introduced Fluoride into its system today, to meet a state requirement. Many Sulphur residents are concerned about re-establishing Fluoride in their drinking water, but medical experts are certain it's not harmful especially with such low quantities in the water.

The walk was hosted by HALO's, a local grief support group to heal those who've dealt with this unfortunate tragedy. "We do not want their death to be in vain," said Amy Johnson, a mother who lost her son to suicide. "The way a person leaves this earth does not define who they are."

     The tragedy in Las Vegas is still unfolding as the injured fight for their lives and law enforcement investigates.  Some our our staff have friends in that area, one of whom planned to be at the concert, but for a last minute change. One of Kaitlin Rust's best friends is  Danielle Lacey, who works in a business inside Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. She and her boyfriend had attended the festival, but decided not to go back Sunday.

    The U.S. Department of Agriculture has adjusted the cost of living in Louisiana which means families that receive SNAP benefits will see a small reduction in benefits beginning Oct. 1.  The USDA adjusts SNAP benefits based on food costs in the U.S. every year and the cost of foods in USDA's Thrifty Food Plan, which is what SNAP benefits are based off, decreased slightly.  The reduction in benefits ranges from 1 to 1.4 percent based on the number of people living ...

    A pipeline has ruptured following a dump truck accident on U.S. 90 in Vinton. The accident happened just inside the western border of the Vinton city limits, Police Chief Ricky Fox said. Fox said the dump truck ran off the road and over a high-pressure nitrogen gas pipeline, knocking off a valve.     The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office has cited 17 high school students on charges of vandalizing homes in Lake Charles.

    On Monday, Sept. 18 between 7:30 and 11:30 p.m., CPSO received two complaints about students from a local high school causing damage to a home on Dietrich Loop and another home on Toulouse Drive, said Kim Myers, Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.

Randy Robb, executive director of Chennault, said the main runway's renovations have been in the works for years.     The Asset Builders of Southwest Louisiana program is expanding to help small business owners. The program, which is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, helps residents with low to moderate incomes in Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron and Jeff Davis parishes save to buy homes.
