The Better Business Bureau is warning of a door-to-door scam in which people are claiming to be raising funds for LaGrange High School's non-existent soccer team.
The BBB says it was tipped off by a call from a resident, who said that a young male knocked on the door saying he was raising funds for the LaGrange soccer team to travel to Ireland. He asked that checks be made out to "The Experience."
LaGrange does not have a soccer team. In addition, the male claimed to live on a nearby street, which the BBB determined to be false.
"BBB warns if anyone knocks on your door soliciting money, investigate before you give," the statement reads. "You man want to consider notifying local law enforcement immediately."
