BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

What are you willing to do to fight pollution and improve the quality of air and water in our state?

That's what retired Lt. General Russel Honore asked the public during Monday's Press Club luncheon. He was there to talk about his environmental work with the Green Army Group. Honore says pipelines are interfering with sportsmen and that refineries and oil wells are polluting the air and water. He is asking Louisiana residents to do their homework and demand that state lawmakers do something to improve their quality of life.

“If we accept dirty air, if we accept water that looks like tea, then shame on us,” said Honore.

Honore is also encouraging everyone to be at the state capitol when legislators discuss those issues. The legislative session starts on Monday, April 10.
