MOSS BLUFF, LA (KPLC) -
A Ragley man is charged with third-offense DWI, open container and careless operation, according to Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers.
At 10:50 p.m. on April 8, sheriff's deputies were dispatched to an area by North Perkins Ferry Road and Clark Court in Moss Bluff, after reports of a vehicle in a ditch.
Deputies arrived to find Nicolous F. Bellard, 38, with the stench of alcohol in his breath and his eyes glazed over, Myers said. Bellard was also in possession of a 24-ounce beer can. He refused to perform a standard sobriety field test and a breath test.
Bellard, who has two previous DWIs, was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center, Myers said. He was released on a $27,000 bond set by Judge David Ritchie on April 10. The special conditions of his bond include not operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device and a valid driver's license. He also cannot commit any other crimes.
