Police release photos of suspected getaway driver in Weller Ave. shooting

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

UPDATE: Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect they believed drove the getaway car in shooting back in September. 

The man in the photographs is believed to have driven a black Ford Fusion in connection with the shooting death of Catrell Wallace on Weller Avenue on September 13, 2017. Investigators believe that Wallace was not the intended target in the shooting. 

Anyone with any information is urged to contact the Violent Crimes Unit at 389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.

A man is dead after a shooting Wednesday in Baton Rouge, according to officials.

The shooting happened on Weller Avenue in Baton Rouge. Weller is near I-110 just north of Mohican Street.

Catrell Wallace, 21, of 3749 Geronimo St., was located in the front parking lot of 2605 Weller Ave. suffering from a gunshot wound.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported Wallace died at the hospital.

There are no known suspects or motives at this time.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
