SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA (KPLC) -

All major highways are open, including I-210, but motorists should still be on the lookout for sporadic patches of ice, according to Louisiana State Police.

Interstate 10 in Lake Charles is also open.

The 210 bridge and loop were closed Tuesday night due to freezing temperatures.

From Wednesday morning:

Sgt. James Anderson, with state police Troop D, said that ice has been reported on bridges and overpasses throughout Southwest Louisiana. Ice has also been reported on other roadways, including US 171 in the Moss Bluff and Gillis areas. Ice has also been reported in Beauregard Parish

"However, most major highways in Southwest Louisiana are passable due to efforts by DOTD to keep these open," Anderson said. "Motorists should be especially cautious on secondary highways."

State police have worked around 40 traffic incidents in Southwest Louisiana since noon Tuesday.

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury closed the bridge on Old Spanish Trail, from Trousdale Road to Prater Road, Tuesday night. Local traffic has access to either side of the road leading up to the bridge but there will be no bridge access.
